3333 Deposit Drive is situated at the exit of I-96 and East Beltline in Grand Rapids, MI. Constructed in 2006, this building was initially designed for the exclusive use of Northpointe Bank. Over time, Northpointe Bank experienced significant growth, outpacing the capacity of the building’s infrastructure. Recognizing this challenge, Advantage Commercial Real Estate’s John Kuiper and Gary Albrecht saw an opportunity to expand Northpointe Bank’s facilities rather than let obstacles restrict their growth. The advisors successfully guided Northpointe Bank to a new location for their growing company.

Eventually, the company and its employees relocated to new offices to continue expansion, leaving 3333 Deposit Drive nearly vacant. Advantage Commercial Real Estate provided Northpointe Bank with a broker’s opinion of the value of selling the property. However, through the process of evaluating Northpointe Bank’s needs and capabilities, our advisors devised an innovative solution: investing capital into the property to transform it into a multi-tenant building for lease. This solution provided a cash-flowing asset for the bank while housing its main branch.

Advantage Commercial Real Estate continued its relationship with Northpointe Bank by leasing the newly vacant space. Despite the many obstacles, including demising spaces to accommodate new tenants and reconfiguring the IT infrastructure, our advisors successfully filled all but one of the vacant suites within 36 months.

Our relationship continues to extend beyond the transaction process. The property management addition of Advantage Commercial Real Estate has been contracted to ensure that every aspect of the building’s operations and maintenance is efficiently handled.
